\ud83d\udc68\u200d\ud83c\udfeb Associate Professor of the Department Hrytsenko K.G., as a member of the working project group of the educational programme \u2018Esports and Computer Games Development\u2019, joined the annual international conference Games Gathering 2025 Lviv, which took place on 3-6 April 2025 \ud83d\uddd3\ufe0f.<\/p>

\ud83c\udfae The event brought together specialists, teachers, students, and everyone interested in the development of game development, uniting them around the discussion of current trends in video game development and employment in the field.<\/p>

\ud83d\udce2 As part of the conference programme, participants had the opportunity to listen to presentations by leading experts, get acquainted with real cases and receive practical advice on creating and promoting computer games. The key topics of discussion included innovations in game design, specifics of indie teams, and ways to develop young professionals in the industry.
\u2728 Special attention was paid to the creation of high-quality game design. Modern game design is not only about ideas but also about their correct implementation.<\/p>

In the presentation \u2018From concept to masterpiece: what makes a game design of high quality?\u2019 Founder & CEO of Red Viburrum Studio Vladimir Gorban focused on the key aspects of high-quality game design. He highlighted the main tips for developers:<\/p>

– Game design is a global system. Game mechanics should be introduced gradually, adjusted to the player’s style, and none should be superfluous in the game. The correct integration of mechanics, the possibility of scaling, and the availability of space for expanding game mechanics are important.<\/p>

– The plot of the game should not be repeated from the previous parts of the game, it should be interesting to the player. For this purpose, the gameplay should be diversified, the game should be non-linear, side quests, background effects, etc.<\/p>

– Players should be interested in exploring games with open worlds with scattered question marks. Therefore, quests should involve some kind of interaction between the player and the world, not just admiring beautiful scenery. Quests should have a meaning. The player should have a feeling that the world is alive, not plastic, the exploration is real, and the world interacts with the player and draws him or her in.<\/p>

\ud83c\udf93 Participation in Games Gathering 2025 Lviv demonstrated the importance of integrating theoretical training with practical industry insights. The information gained allows you to better navigate current trends in gaming, understand market needs and adapt educational programmes to the real challenges of the professional environment.<\/p>

\ud83d\udcda Such events are a valuable source of knowledge and inspiration for teachers, students, and everyone who wants to make a career in game development.<\/p>
