What does it feel like to be the person who creates the most\npowerful artificial intelligence on their own, but is not entirely sure what it\nwill end up like for humanity? Dario Amadei, CEO of Anthropic (creator of\nClaude) and one of the \u201cfathers\u201d of modern AI, shared his candid thoughts about\nthe future that is already on the doorstep.<\/o:p><\/p>

\ud83d\udcc8<\/span> The Economy of \u201c100\nMillion Geniuses\u201d<\/o:p><\/p>

Amadei predicts that AI will be the biggest breakthrough in\nhistory. If the technology develops according to the optimistic scenario, we\nwill expect:<\/o:p><\/p>

\u2022 GDP growth: in the economies of developed countries, a\njump of 5\u201315% is expected annually – a pace that the world has never seen\nbefore;<\/o:p><\/p>

\u2022 the emergence of \u201cvirtual geniuses\u201d: AI will work as if\nhumanity had 100 million virtual geniuses, each of which simultaneously solves\ncomplex problems in medicine, energy and management;<\/o:p><\/p>

\u2022 a medical revolution: AI is able to find cures for cancer,\nAlzheimer\u2019s disease and depression, changing the approach to biomarkers and\ntherapy.<\/o:p><\/p>

\u26a0\ufe0f<\/span> Risks: Who is at risk?<\/o:p><\/p>

The forecast for the labor market is quite severe. It is\nprecisely intellectual and office professions that are most vulnerable, in\nparticular novice lawyers, financial analysts, developers and data processing\nspecialists.<\/o:p><\/p>

The main danger is not the fact of automation itself, but\nits speed. Society and legal systems may simply not have time to adapt to the\npace of change.<\/o:p><\/p>

In addition to economic challenges, Amadei highlights the\nthreat of the use of AI by authoritarian regimes for total surveillance and the\nrisk of \u201crebellious\u201d systems that will act contrary to the intentions of their\ncreators.<\/o:p><\/p>

The most controversial part of the interview concerned the\n\u201cinner world\u201d of the models. Anthropic is seriously investigating the issue of\nAI consciousness. An interesting fact: the Claude model itself estimates the\nprobability of having signs of consciousness at 15-20%. The company even\nimplemented a \u201cfail button\u201d that allows the system to not perform tasks that it\nconsiders unacceptable.<\/o:p><\/p>

Dario Amadei is neither an optimist nor a pessimist about AI\n\u2013 he is a pragmatist. In his opinion, the success of our interaction with AI\ndepends on how quickly humanity learns to adapt law, politics, and its own\nskills to new realities.<\/o:p><\/p>
