On 19 January 2026, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Cybernetics V.V. Yatsenko, a member of the working group on the development of the educational programme ‘Esports and Computer Game Development’, took part in the inaugural meeting of the Ukrainian Community of Game and Game Education Researchers, which was held online and brought together scientists, educators and game industry professionals from different regions of Ukraine.
The purpose of the event was to form a professional interdisciplinary community, discuss its vision, values and strategic directions, as well as establish cooperation between the academic community, education and the video game and board game industry.
As part of the inaugural meeting programme, the concept of the Community was presented, a decision was made to establish it, its organisational structure was discussed, elections for the Board (Coordination Council) were held, and further steps and priorities for the development of Ukrainian game studies and game education were identified.
The participation of a member of the working group on the development of the educational programme ‘Esports and Computer Game Development’ in this event contributes to the integration of modern approaches to game education and game research into the educational process, as well as the expansion of academic and professional cooperation at the national level.
