QATestLab IT Training Center at the Department of Economic Cybernetics
Practical training of students is an urgent requirement of the modern labor market. The position of a tester today is one of the fastest ways to start a career in the IT field.
In order to improve the quality of IT training of students of the educational program “Economic Cybernetics and Business Analytics”, a Memorandum was concluded between Sumy State University and the IT company QATestLab and a training center of the company QATestLab was created on the basis of the Department of Economic Cybernetics.
The purpose of the memorandum is cooperation between the Parties in the field of education and training of qualified specialists in the IT industry, exchange of experience in the development of advanced methods and technologies of training.
QATestLab is an outsourcing IT company that provides a full range of software testing services. It operates in the independent testing market, performing quality checks of products (from online stores to gaming platforms and banking systems) for customers from Europe, America, and Asia. The company’s slogan is “Quality is a rule!”
Until 01.08.24, within the framework of the Memorandum between Sumy State University and QATestLab, the QATestLab training center operated on the basis of the Department of Economic Cybernetics.
According to the Memorandum, the Department of Economic Cybernetics had the right to use the WEB 100.Platform online training platform, materials of the “Software testing for Universities” training course in the educational process and the right to access the software infrastructure to support the educational process free of charge. The materials were used during the teaching of the disciplines “Introduction to Software”, ECBA, EC, “Software Quality and Testing”, KS-21 (teacher – Ph.D., Associate Professor Yatsenko V.V.). After studying the course, students were able to receive certificates of successful study of the “Software testing for Universities” course from QA testlab. The acquired competencies and certificates of QATestLab contribute to the employment of students and graduates in the IT field as software testers.
Starting from 2017 to 2024, meetings of students of the educational programs “Economic Cybernetics and Business Analytics”, “Economic Cybernetics”, “Esports and Computer Game Development” with representatives of the QATestLab company have become traditional. During such meetings, special attention is paid to the development of the modern IT market, the profession of a software developer and tester, passing a job interview, and the need to develop soft skills for a future specialist.
