QATestLab IT Training Center at the Department of Economic Cybernetics
In order to improve the quality of IT training for students in the “Economic Cybernetics and Business Analytics” program, a memorandum was signed in 2021 between Sumy State University and the IT company QATestLab, and a QATestLab training center was established within the Department of Economic Cybernetics.
The purpose of the memorandum is for the parties to cooperate in the field of education and the training of qualified IT specialists, as well as to exchange expertise in the development of advanced teaching methods and technologies.
QATestLab is an IT outsourcing company that provides a full range of software testing services. It operates in the independent testing market, conducting quality assurance for products (ranging from online stores to gaming platforms and banking systems) for clients in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. The company’s motto is “Quality is a rule!”
Until August 1, 2024, under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding between Sumy State University and QATestLab, a QATestLab training center operated within the Department of Economic Cybernetics.
Under the Memorandum, the Department of Economic Cybernetics was granted the right to use the WEB 100.Platform online learning platform and the materials from the “Software Testing for Universities” course in its educational programs, as well as free access to the software infrastructure supporting the educational process. These materials were used in teaching the courses “Introduction to Software,” ECBA, EC, “Software Quality and Testing,” and KS-21 (instructor: V.V. Yatsenko, Ph.D. in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor). After completing the course, students had the opportunity to receive certificates of successful completion of the “Software Testing for Universities” course from QA TestLab. The competencies acquired and the certificates issued by QA TestLab facilitate the employment of students and graduates in the IT sector as software testers.
From 2017 to 2024, meetings between students in the “Economic Cybernetics and Business Analytics,” “Economic Cybernetics,” and “Esports and Computer Game Development” programs and representatives of QATestLab became a tradition. During these meetings, special attention was paid to the development of the modern IT market, the professions of software developer and tester, the job interview process, and the need for future professionals to develop soft skills.
