Big Data – Analytics of Large Data Sets: An Online Career Guidance Lecture for Students at the Konotop General Education School

📊 On October 16, 2026, Alina Yurievna Yefimenko, an assistant professor in the department, hosted an online event titled “Big Data – Analytics of Large Data Sets” for 20 11th-grade students at Konotop General Education School No. 11 (Grades I–III).

💡 The high school students learned about:

  • the world of Big Data: the students explored the specifics of analyzing large datasets using modern information technologies;
  • practical case studies: participants examined real-world problems and developed their own hypotheses based on analytical approaches;
  • educational horizons: future graduates were introduced to the majors offered by the Educational and Research Institute of Business, Economics, and Management (ERI BEM) at Sumy State University.

Special attention was given to educational programs within the C1 major in Economics and International Economic Relations (specifically “Economic Cybernetics”). The students learned how the combination of economic modeling, mathematical methods, and IT tools enables the forecasting of market processes and the making of effective management decisions.

We thank the high school students for their active participation and insightful questions, and the administration of Konotop Secondary School No. 11 for their fruitful cooperation!
