Meeting with Representatives of Infinity Technologies: LinkedIn as a Tool for Job Search and Professional Development

With the aim of improving the quality of professional training for students at Sumy State University in the following majors: 051 “Economics,” C1 “Economics and International Economic Relations,” and 121 “Software Engineering,” and to ensure high-quality professional and practical training as well as the development of educational and scientific processes, a branch of the Department of Economic Cybernetics has been established at Infinity Technologies.

As part of the branch’s activities, a meeting was held on May 14, 2026, with Yevgen Dmytriyev, Director of Human Resources at Infinity Technologies. The topic of the meeting was “LinkedIn as a Tool for Job Search and Professional Development.”

During the meeting, Yevgen Dmitriev emphasized that for future professionals, a LinkedIn profile is an important tool for professional development, finding internships, securing a first job, and building one’s own career brand. The modern job market is increasingly focused on a professional’s digital presence, so a properly completed LinkedIn profile can be the first step toward a successful career.

A completed LinkedIn profile serves as a modern online resume. It allows you to list your education, academic projects, term papers, conference participation, certifications, proficiency in various data analysis tools, and more. It is important to demonstrate not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills, including developed economic and mathematical models, results of economic indicator forecasting, and data processing skills.

According to Yevgeny Dmitriev, LinkedIn helps future professionals build professional connections. Through this platform, users can follow companies—such as Infinity Technologies—that offer internships and job openings for programmers, analysts, economists, data analysts, business analysts, risk analysts, and more. In addition, students can add alumni, faculty members, business representatives, HR managers, and other professionals to their professional network. This creates opportunities for professional networking, receiving advice, and exploring career opportunities.

Employers often review candidates’ LinkedIn profiles before an interview. If a student’s profile is well-developed and includes a clear description of skills, academic achievements, and professional interests, it builds trust in the candidate. Even if a student does not yet have significant work experience, they can highlight academic projects, analytical tasks, participation in student research, online course certificates, and a commitment to professional development.

The Department of Economic Cybernetics sincerely thanks Yevgen Dmytriyev for the informative meeting, useful information, and practical advice. The department also extends its gratitude to Infinity Technologies for its fruitful cooperation, the opportunity for higher education students to complete internships at the company, the involvement of students in various projects, and the creation of conditions for them to gain practical experience in a modern professional environment.
