On 11 October 2023, the teaching of the elective course ‘Machine Learning for Cybersecurity in Financial Services’ for 4th year students of the speciality ECTABA began. The lecturer of the course is H.M. Yarovenko.
The course programme covers a wide range of machine learning topics, including, for example, Ensemble Machine Learning Algorithms – using ensemble methods to improve forecasting accuracy and reduce cyber threat risks and Supervised Learning. Neural Network Algorithms – an overview of the principles of neural networks, including multilayer perceptron and its application in financial security.
During the course, students study in detail decision trees, gradient boosting, neural network methods, and work with Scikit-learn tools to build and visualise machine learning models.
The course is aimed at acquiring practical skills in developing algorithms for detecting threats in financial transactions using modern artificial intelligence technologies.
We wish all students success in mastering the new material!
The course is taught as part of the Jean Monnet Module on EU Practices to Protect the Financial System from Cyber Threats (101085364 – EU_PITCH)
