The authors Bozhenko V.V., Pakhnenko O.M., Koibichuk V.V. and Yarovenko H.M. published an article “Investigation of Financial Cybercrime and Digital Forensics in the EU Financial System”. The article was published in the professional edition “Sustainable Development of the Economy”.
The article is devoted to topical issues of digital forensics in the financial sector, taking into account the EU experience. The authors summarize the results of scientific research on the formation of a portrait of a cybercriminal, classify their types, and provide a comparative description of the motives and characteristics of crimes committed in the offline and online environment. The article examines the dynamics of cyber incidents occurring in the financial sector and reveals a significant increase in them in recent years. The authors summarize the main stages of digital forensics and identify the main difficulties encountered in investigating cyber incidents in the financial services sector. To overcome the obstacles in digital forensics in the financial sector, the authors propose a combination of advanced forensic tools, specialized expertise and close cooperation between financial institutions, law enforcement and regulatory authorities.
