Webinar “The main driving forces and policy measures introduced to reduce the shadow economy in the EU”

On November 26, 2024, a webinar on “The main driving forces and policy measures introduced to reduce the shadow economy in the EU” was held, the speaker of which was Vitaliia Koibichuk, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Economic Cybernetics. The event was held within the framework of the training course “Anti-corruption policy and policy of combating the shadow economy in the EU” of the international grant – Jean Monnet module “Anti-corruption and countering shadow economy: step by step to common Europe”.

The webinar discussed the critical factors affecting the shadow economy in the European Union, as well as key policy measures aimed at reducing it. The speaker described the main factors of shadow economic activity and gave examples of innovative policy instruments used in the EU to combat this problem. The webinar participants discussed the role of international cooperation in promoting transparency and accountability.
