On May 29, 2026, Sumy State University hosted the “Digital Challenge” hackathon. The event was organized as part of the Jean Monnet module “Developing Digital Competencies for Digital Economy Professionals and Business Leaders: Best European Practices for Ukraine,” funded by the Erasmus+ program (101127435-EU_DIGIT-ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH).
Students at Sumy State University majoring in 051 “Economics (Economic Cybernetics and Business Analytics)” and 121 “Software Engineering (Esports and Computer Game Development)” put their digital skills to the test by creating and presenting a business concept for a mobile app that addresses a pressing practical problem. The presented business concepts for mobile apps included a description of the customer’s problem addressed by the developers, a unique value proposition (the solution to the customer’s problem), a demonstration of the software product prototype in Figma, a description of the software product’s target audience, a market and competitor analysis, a visualization of the mobile app’s business model (Lean Canvas), a description of the monetization model and key financial projections, and a go-to-market strategy (primary acquisition channels and App Store Optimization).
The “Digital Challenge” hackathon helped improve teamwork skills, spread new ideas, and provide practical experience in developing digital competencies.
