Professional Development in Data Modeling: Practical Tools for Researchers

From May 21–26, 2026, Alina Yurievna Yefimenko, an assistant at the Department of Economic Cybernetics, provided a paid professional development course titled “Data Modeling: Applied Tools for Researchers” (1 ECTS, 30 hours).

Twenty-seven participants took part in the program, including:

  • 13 faculty and academic staff members from Sumy State University,
  • 14 representatives from other educational institutions.

The training was funded by private individuals and focused on developing modern analytical and econometric competencies among researchers and instructors.

The program covered the following topics:

  • methodology, tools, and resources for data collection;
  • collection, cleaning, and preparation of data for analytical and econometric research;
  • panel regression: methods for identifying and estimating parameters using Stata;
  • Multifactor Adaptive Regression Splines (MARS).
