The Department of Economic Cybernetics and the Department of Economics and Business Administration have been working together in close and effective cooperation to provide success and the proudest achievement of students.
12-14 April 2017 the National Academy of Statistics, Accounting and Auditing of State Statistics Service of Ukraine held the second round of Ukrainian Student Competition in Statistics. 52 students from 24 Ukrainian universities were the participants this year.
The jury consisted of leading scientific and teaching staff from research institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and universities. Olha Kremen, Associate Professor, Department of Economic Cybernetics of Sumy State University, took part in the Appeals Committee of Competition.
Sumy State University was represented by Gavrilo Yuliya (Academic and Scientific Institute of Finance, Economics and Management), Dinits Ruslan and Kharchenko Yuliya (Academic and Scientific Institute for Business Technology UABS). Preparation of students was provided by both Olha Kremen and Olexandr Matsenko.
Contest participants must have done a crossword devoted to statistical terminology and three logical and analytical tasks.
Students of Sumy State University have coped admirably with the tasks. It is useful to note that most of participants have been studying to get degree in Statistics.
Julia Gavrylo was the best student and won an important victory, Iryna Kharchenko and Ruslan Dinits took 7th and 10th ranking position respectively. In addition, Irina Kharchenko was awarded a certificate for the successful use of statistical methodology.
Taking part in the competition will continue improving teaching Statistics, deepen scientific developments and increase statistical literacy of youth.
