On February 24, 2022, our reality changed… In these difficult times, many Ukrainians started volunteering: organizing fundraising, purchasing necessary goods, helping with transportation, etc. Some volunteers work independently, some have joined already existing charitable or public organizations. Among the volunteers is a graduate of the Department of Economic Cybernetics, head of the “BT” Voluntary Center named after Ivan Sirka” Kiyashko Serhiy.
On July 14, 2022, an online meeting of Kiyashko Serhiy with students and teachers of the Department of Economic Cybernetics on the topic “Volunteer movement as “business in reverse” took place. The role of cybernetics in the creation of any startup”.
During the online meeting, the volunteer shared his own experience of creating and organizing the work of a volunteer organization during martial law, provided answers to many questions, in particular, how to involve more people in the cause, what general principles of building complex systems are used when building a volunteer organization, what is the role of scientific approach when creating any startup, etc.
Other graduates of the Department of Economic Cybernetics – Serhiy Okhrymenko and Volodymyr Velichko – joined the discussion, who shared their own experience of creating startups, emphasized the need to use a systemic approach when creating a volunteer organization or own business, the importance of critical thinking, the need to use the basic principles of cybernetics and system analysis not only in professional activities, but also in everyday life.
