A recent study conducted by AIN.UA in partnership with Genesis provides information on the profile of data analysts in the Ukrainian IT industry. The study delves into key aspects such as education, work experience, salary levels and professional preferences.
The study was based on the responses of 99 participants who completed an anonymous survey. The study was also supported by Genesis, which was recognised as the best employer in wartime in 2023 and awarded the Employee Love Mark in 2024, and supported the study.
The survey results showed that the majority of analysts in Ukraine work in product companies, usually in small teams or independently, and prefer remote work. Ukrainian IT analysts highly value deep business understanding and critical thinking. Their toolkit typically includes Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio, and programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R. Interestingly, most domestic IT analysts have one to three years of experience, and 57% entered the profession through self-study.
When choosing a job, more than 61% of specialists put the nature of work tasks and salary level in the first place. According to the study, a quarter of respondents earn between $2,000 and $3,000 per month.
