In 2023, the job market has undergone significant changes compared to the previous year, which is reflected in the dynamics of demand for various specialities, so we want to share with you an analysis of these changes based on a study by the CleverStaff recruitment system published by Happy Monday.
In general, in 2023, there was a noticeable increase in activity in the Ukrainian labour market, as the number of total vacancies increased by a third compared to the previous year. In 2022, the most popular jobs were in logistics, finance, medicine, as well as in HR and foreign language content management. In 2023, despite the continuing demand for accountants and medical staff, we can see some changes: the need for junior medical staff, administrators, sales agents, specialised workers, equipment operators and recruiters has increased significantly.
As for the IT market, the number of vacancies was higher in 2022 than in 2023, but it should be borne in mind that there was no full-scale war in January and February 2022. Although the number of vacancies in the IT sector decreased slightly in 2023, the number of vacancies closed increased by 16%. Throughout the year, IT companies were actively looking for marketers, QA specialists, analysts, designers, and full-stack developers. At the same time, the demand for GameDev, Backend, SEO and Java specialists decreased. Kyiv, Lviv, and remote work were the leaders in terms of the number of open IT vacancies.
The coming years may bring further changes in the structure of demand in the labour market, which will be determined by the impact of economic and social factors, so you should continue to closely monitor trends and adapt to changes to effectively adapt to the requirements of the modern labour market.
