Job change and salary dynamics in Ukraine: findings from the DOU winter survey

We are pleased to share insights from a recent article published by DOU, the largest IT community in Ukraine, which sheds light on the relationship between job change and average salaries in IT. The new DOU article offers an analysis of the results of a salary survey conducted in December 2023.

Key findings of the study:

  1. The analysis shows that changing jobs in Ukraine does not significantly affect the average salary, but professionals who explore employment opportunities abroad have a chance to earn higher salaries.
  2. The study emphasizes that middle and junior level professionals (middles and juniors) are more likely to change jobs compared to their senior level colleagues (seniors), notably, this trend is especially noticeable among people working in Customer Success, game design, and marketing departments.
  3. Professionals who can boast of more than ten years of work experience tend to have a noticeable increase in their salary when they move to a new job, especially if they enter the international labor market.

DOU’s analysis provides valuable information for employees who want to navigate the labor market and employers who want to attract the best talent. Understanding the dynamics of labor market changes and their impact on wage structures is crucial to creating a competitive and prosperous labor force ecosystem.
