On November 1, the department held a meeting with Yevhen Lukyanov, a graduate of the “Economic Cybernetics” program, who has achieved significant professional success in the field of software testing. First- through fourth-year students studying this field of IT within the following courses listened with great interest to the experienced specialist:
‒ Software Quality and Testing (educational program “Esports and Computer Game Development”);
‒ Introduction to Software Testing (educational program “Economic Cybernetics and Business Analytics”).
Yevhen shared with the audience the story of his professional career, told how the knowledge gained at the department helped him build a successful career in IT. He elaborated on the peculiarities of a tester’s work, gave examples from his own practice, and answered students’ questions.
The speaker elaborated on the peculiarities of mobile testing. He explained the requirements for such applications and the peculiarities of this type of testing. The students learned about the various operations performed during testing, the use of emulators and real devices, the peculiarities of testing web projects on mobile devices, and the problems that may arise during such testing, as well as how to document the errors found using screenshots and videos. Yevhen also shared his recommendations for choosing tools for mobile testing.
The speaker paid attention to current trends in testing, such as test automation and the use of artificial intelligence. He spoke about the challenges faced by modern testers and how to overcome them. Yevhen emphasized the importance of continuous self-development and learning new technologies.
This meeting was a real gift for our students, because it not only expanded their knowledge of software testing, in particular mobile testing, but also inspired them to further achievements.
