We are pleased to share insights from a recent article published by DOU, the largest IT community in Ukraine, which is dedicated to the Ukrainian IT labour market research for March 2024. Here are the key points from the recent article:
- Vacancy announcements: In March, 4,803 vacancies were posted on DOU’s website, which is almost a thousand more than the previous year.
- Category dynamics: Positive dynamics was observed in 33 categories, while 12 categories showed negative trends. The surge in vacancies was observed in the C++ category, which reached 46 vacancies, as well as in Front-end with 265 vacancies.
- Geography of vacancies: There were many vacancies in Kyiv and smaller regions, reflecting the growing trend towards remote work. In addition, 451 vacancies were targeted at candidates looking for work abroad, which indicates the international appeal of Ukrainian IT professionals.
- Competition: The average number of applications per vacancy decreased to 31.4, indicating a more balanced competitive environment. However, the Front-end and QA categories remain highly competitive, which underscores the demand for qualified specialists in these areas.
