Webinar “Methods of detecting social engineering and combating cyber fraud in the financial sector in the EU and Ukraine”

On 06.03.2024, a webinar “Methods of detecting social engineering and combating cyber fraud in the financial sector in the EU and Ukraine” was held by Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Cybernetics of Sumy State University, Visiting Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Carlos III University of Madrid.

The event was organised as part of the Jean Monnet module “EU Practices to Protect the Financial System from Cyber Threats” funded by the Erasmus+ programme (101085364-EU_PITCH-ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH). The event was attended by students and lecturers from Mariupol State University, Sumy National Agrarian University, Poltava State Agrarian University, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Sambir College of Economics and Information Technologies, Romny College of Economics of Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University, and Glukhiv Agricultural College of NAU.

During the webinar, the speaker highlighted the types of social engineering in the financial sector, their future forecasts, and methods of counteraction and fight, such as training and awareness raising, application of technological solutions, security audit and risk assessment, monitoring of internal access, and practical tests.
