👨🏫 Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Cybernetics Hrytsenko K.G., a member of the working group on the development of the educational program “E-sports and computer game development”, took part in the annual conference Games Gathering 2025 Lviv, which was held on April 3–6, 2025 and was dedicated to the development of the 🎮 gaming industry.
🌍 This conference brought together specialists and representatives of the gaming industry, teachers and students of higher education institutions.
📢 The program included lectures by leading experts who shared real cases and insights from their professional practice.
💡 One of the key topics of the event was the transition from a virtual battlefield to real combat operations.
In the report “From a virtual battlefield to a real mission: combat operations with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)”, the 130th Territorial Defense Battalion shared practical advice on training UAV operators.
– The general picture on the UAV pilot’s screen is not much different from the game one. But in a real combat operation, everything looks more interesting, because it is natural. Hours spent in games give excellent hand motor skills, and the game screen is very similar to the UAV operator’s screen, so the adaptation of people who play for a long time is as fast as possible.
– For the past year and a half, work has been underway to stop the enemy using UAVs. The task is: to find the enemy, identify and destroy it. The most important stage in completing this task, as in games, is proper planning.
– Every day you learn something new for yourself in order to be more effective on the battlefield.
– On the battlefield, everyone makes their own decisions. And the life of another soldier depends on this decision.
