On 30 May 2025, Sumy State University hosted an exciting Capture The Flag (CTF) competition – SecureFinance: SumDU Cyber Challenge. This event, held as part of the implementation of the Jean Monnet Module ‘EU Practices to Protect the Financial System from Cyber Threats’ #EU_PITCH project, brought together five teams of students ready to test their cybersecurity skills 🕵️♂️👩💻.
The competition immediately immersed the participants in the world of vulnerability detection and hidden digital treasures. Students had the opportunity to explore how WordPress-based sites work, look for holes in the system and solve various puzzles that required knowledge of various areas of cybersecurity.

It was a great experience for all participants – an opportunity to gain practical skills, work in a team and plunge into the atmosphere of a real cyber competition!
Participants noted interesting and extraordinary tasks that went beyond the standard curriculum, providing valuable practical experience. In addition, the competition was a great opportunity to improve teamwork and cooperation skills in a friendly environment of like-minded people.
