Webinar “Network Vulnerability Analysis and Risk Assessment”

On 7 May 2024, a webinar “Network Vulnerability Analysis and Risk Assessment” was held by Vitaliia Koibichuk, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Economic Cybernetics at Sumy State University.

The event was organised as part of the Jean Monnet module “EU Practices to Protect the Financial System from Cyber Threats” funded by the Erasmus+ programme (101085364-EU_PITCH-ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH). The event was attended by students and professors from S. Kuznets Kharkiv National University and Sumy State University, who enriched the discussion with their diverse views and ideas.

The webinar participants delved into topical issues, including the current threat landscape in Ukraine and globally, the dynamics of the cost of cybercrime, data protection regulations and liability for its violation. The speaker also focused on practical solutions, including various software tools for assessing network vulnerability, common types of network threats, and appropriate risk levels. In addition, the participants received valuable recommendations on how to implement cybersecurity measures tailored to the unique challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
